Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd Sherri Shepherd, an American comedian, actress, author, and TV presenter, was born on April 22nd, 1967, in Chicago. She is the daughter LaVerne Shepherd and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father was a deacon at the church of the family and was a manager of a restaurant as her mother was a housekeeper. Shepherd is the oldest of the three children. Shepherd went to Hoffman High School. She was employed as a Beverly Hills legal secretary and began stand-up comedy. She ultimately decided to leave her job to pursue the field of entertainment after she was cast in the sitcom that lasted only a few episodes, "Cleghorne!" The show aired only for one season on The WB network in 1995. Shepherd was in financial difficulties because of the show's cancellation. She had to stay in friend's homes for a year while she searched for new work.In 1996 she was a part of Jaime Foxx's sitcom "The Jaime Foxx Show," that she remained an actor on until 2001. In the latter part of the 1990s, she also landed the recurring role in the sitcom "Suddenly Susan" (now "Everybody Loves Raymond")
